Web Design Process For Clients

In this article, we’ll walk you through our web design process, so you know exactly what to expect, how we work, and how we turn your vision into a fully functional website.

Domain & Web Hosting Setup

The first step in getting your website online is setting up a new email address and purchasing both a domain name and web hosting. Your domain is the address of your website (e.g., websitename.com), while web hosting is the space you rent on the internet.

As freelancers, we don’t sell hosting services or purchase them on your behalf. However, you’re more than welcome to reach out to us, we’d be happy to guide you through the process. We also offer helpful guides on our website to assist you in choosing the right hosting provider&plan for your needs.

    Initial Contact

Once you reach out to us, we’ll send you a client questionnaire to help us understand your vision and goals. If the questionnaire feels too long or overwhelming, feel free to focus on the most important parts such as what your website will be about and what you envision for it. How involved you’d like to be in the design process is entirely up to you.

      The questionnaire includes questions like:

      • Do you already have branding materials (logo, typography, color scheme, etc.)?
      • Can you briefly describe your brand or yourself?
      • Do you already have web hosting and a domain?
      • What will your website be about?
      • Who is your target audience?
      • What sets you apart from your competition?
      • Are there any specific features or requests you have for your website?
      • Are there any websites whose design you admire? Feel free to share links.
      • Is there anything else you’d like to share or request?

This step helps us create the design and functionality of your website to best suit your needs.

      Project Planning & Strategy

This is the most time-intensive phase of the project. Once we’ve received your completed questionnaire, we’ll begin planning the structure, pages, and core functionalities of your website. Based on this, we’ll create and share a wireframe (a basic layout of the site) with you.

If you’re happy with the wireframe, we’ll move on to designing a mock-up, a visual preview of what your website will look like. Once the mock-up is approved, we’ll begin development.

To proceed with this phase, we will need a 50% upfront payment. This helps protect our time and effort, especially since a significant amount of work goes into planning and designing before any development begins.

        Web Design Phase

Once the final design is approved, we will begin integrating it into your website using WordPress.

        Site Build & Functionality Setup

Once the design phase is complete, we will implement key functionalities such as contact forms, eCommerce features, booking systems, security measures, backups, and performance optimization.

        Google Tools Integration & Monetization

We will set up your website with essential Google tools to ensure your site is properly indexed, track performance, and enable monetization opportunities.

        Website Launch

Once all the previous steps are completed, your website will be ready to launch. We’ll deliver the final version to you and provide a link to our guide on how to use the WordPress dashboard.

        Post-Launch Support & Maintenance

We provide 30 days free support after your website goes live. During this period, you can ask questions, request minor updates, or report any issues that arise. Our goal is to ensure your site runs smoothly and you’re confident in managing it. After the 30-day period, ongoing maintenance and support plans are also available upon request.
